Following aftercare instructions carefully protects your results and reduces the risk of bruising or swelling lasting longer than necessary.
Avoid touching, pressing or massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours. The filler needs time to settle into position, and manipulating it early can affect placement.
Avoid intense heat for 24 hours, including saunas, steam rooms, very hot showers and sunbeds. Heat increases blood flow to the face and can worsen swelling and bruising.
Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before and after treatment. Alcohol thins the blood and significantly increases the likelihood and severity of bruising.
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 to 48 hours. Elevated heart rate and increased blood pressure can extend swelling and bruising.
Do apply a cold compress gently to any areas of swelling in the first few hours. Do not apply ice directly to the skin.
Do keep hydrated. Hyaluronic acid works with your body’s own moisture, so staying well-hydrated in the days following your treatment supports the best possible result.
Do contact us immediately if you notice any unusual symptoms, particularly any white or pale patches, significant pain, or discolouration in the treated area. These are rare but can indicate a vascular complication that requires prompt attention. Megan holds hyaluronidase on-site and is trained to manage complications.
