Every facial is performed personally by Megan, an NMC-registered nurse whose clinical background means she understands skin at a deeper level than a beauty therapist. The result is a treatment that genuinely improves your skin rather than simply relaxing it.
We currently offer two facial treatments: the Dermaplaning Facial and the SoLuna Signature Experience. Both are designed to leave your skin visibly better, brighter, smoother, and more radiant from a single session.
Neither requires any downtime, and both are suitable for most skin types, including sensitive skin.

Dermaplaning is a professional skin treatment that uses a sterile surgical blade held at a precise angle to gently remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (the soft, light "peach fuzz" that covers the face).

The result is immediately visible: skin that looks noticeably smoother, brighter and more even in tone.
Dermaplaning is not painful. The blade glides lightly across the skin and most clients describe the sensation as a gentle scraping that is completely comfortable. Because the treatment physically removes the top layer of dead skin, products applied immediately afterwards absorb far more effectively, making it an excellent preparation for a special occasion or a regular part of a skin maintenance routine.
Common concerns about dermaplaning, particularly whether the hair grows back thicker or darker, are a myth. Vellus hair does not have the same structure as terminal hair and dermaplaning does not affect the hair follicle, so regrowth is identical to how the hair was before treatment.
Dermaplaning is not suitable if you have active acne, very sensitive or reactive skin, or certain skin conditions. Megan will confirm suitability at your consultation.

This is not a quick skin pass; it is a full, considered treatment tailored to your skin on the day.
The facial includes deep cleansing, exfoliation, extractions as needed, a targeted treatment mask, and finishing serums tailored to your skin type and concerns. Megan incorporates facial massage techniques throughout, which improve circulation, reduce puffiness, and give the skin a lifted, more defined appearance. A neck and shoulder massage is included as standard.

Avoid applying makeup for at least a few hours after your facial, ideally until the following morning. Your skin has been thoroughly cleansed and exfoliated and applying makeup too soon can clog the pores and reduce the benefit of the treatment.
Avoid heat for 24 hours including saunas, steam rooms and very hot showers. Freshly treated skin is more sensitive to heat and temperature extremes.
Avoid active skincare ingredients such as retinol, vitamin C and exfoliating acids for 24 hours after dermaplaning specifically. Your skin barrier has been lightly disrupted and needs time to restore before being exposed to strong actives.
Do apply SPF the following morning. After dermaplaning especially, your skin is more susceptible to UV damage and sun protection is essential to maintain your results and protect against pigmentation.
Do keep your skin hydrated with a gentle moisturiser in the days following your treatment. Your skin will be in an optimal state to absorb hydrating products and the results will last longer as a result.
Do contact us if you have any concerns. Some light redness in the hours after a facial is completely normal and settles quickly. If you experience prolonged irritation or any reaction, contact Megan directly.

How often should I have a facial?
For most people, a facial every four to six weeks works well. This aligns with the skin’s natural renewal cycle, which takes approximately 28 days.
Regular treatments maintain healthy skin, prevent the buildup of dead skin cells and congestion, and produce better long-term results than occasional one-off appointments.
Many of our clients make the SoLuna Signature Experience a monthly ritual. Megan will recommend a frequency based on your skin type and goals at your consultation.
Will I see results after one facial?
Yes, both treatments produce visible results after a single session. After dermaplaning, your skin will look immediately smoother, brighter and more refined.
After the SoLuna Signature Experience, your skin will feel deeply nourished, look more radiant and have a healthy glow that lasts.
Many clients notice their makeup applies more smoothly in the days after a facial and that their regular skincare products absorb more effectively.
Do facials help with acne or breakouts?
Regular professional facials can help manage breakout-prone skin by deeply cleansing pores, removing congestion and improving the skin’s overall balance and resilience.
However, if you have active breakouts or inflamed acne on the day of your appointment, we may need to adapt your treatment or recommend waiting until the skin has settled.
Dermaplaning is not suitable over active breakouts. Megan will assess your skin at your appointment and adjust the treatment plan accordingly.
Are facials suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. Both facial treatments at SoLuna can be adapted for sensitive skin. Megan will assess your skin before your treatment and adjust the products, techniques and pressure used accordingly.
If you have a known skin condition, allergy or recent reaction, please mention it when booking so we can prepare appropriately.
Dermaplaning is generally well tolerated by most skin types but is not suitable for very reactive skin or active rosacea.

Is there any downtime after a facial?
