Before the filler is placed, a strong numbing cream is applied to the lips and left to take effect, typically around 15 to 20 minutes. The filler itself also contains a local anaesthetic, so by the time treatment begins most clients feel very little. You may notice a slight pressure or occasional pinch, but the procedure itself takes only 15 to 30 minutes.
Megan uses precise placement techniques to build volume gradually, checking shape and symmetry as she works. The goal is always a balanced, natural result. Enhanced lips that look like they belong to your face, not a different one.
The full appointment, from arrival to leaving, is typically around 45 to 60 minutes.

Lip filler results are visible immediately, though your lips will appear slightly fuller than your final result for the first few days due to swelling.

Some light bruising is also normal. By days three to five the swelling settles considerably, and your final result is fully visible at around two weeks. That is also when we recommend a review if you’d like one.

Results typically last between 6 and 12 months depending on your metabolism, lifestyle, and the amount of filler placed. Over time the hyaluronic acid is gradually and safely broken down by the body. Your lips return to their natural state rather than looking deflated or distorted, which is one of the reasons hyaluronic acid fillers are considered the gold standard for lip enhancement.
If at any point you are unhappy with your results, hyaluronic acid filler can be safely dissolved using a product called hyaluronidase. This is something Megan holds as part of her emergency kit, so you are always in safe hands.

Avoid intense heat for the first 24 hours, including saunas, steam rooms, very hot showers and sunbeds, as heat increases swelling and bruising.
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 to 48 hours. Increased blood flow to the face can worsen bruising and extend swelling.
Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours, as it thins the blood and can increase bruising.
Avoid touching, pressing or massaging the lips in the first 24 hours. Let the filler settle naturally.
Do keep hydrated. Hyaluronic acid works best when you’re well-hydrated, so drink plenty of water in the days following your treatment.
Do apply a gentle lip balm to keep the lips comfortable and moisturised as they heal.
Do contact us if you have any concerns at all. We are always available to answer questions after your treatment. If you notice anything unusual, such as prolonged firmness, discolouration, or any white or pale patches, contact Megan straight away, as these can occasionally indicate a vascular issue that needs prompt attention.

Do lip fillers hurt?
